In tribute to their faith and love in the orphaned children cared for at the “Child City of Mooseheart,” Illinois, the New Bedford Lodge of Moose has voted to install a light to burn continuously in front of its North Sixth Street Home.
Action was taken after George J Viegas, secretary of the local lodge, gave an impressive talk on the work done at the Illinois community on behalf of the 1,200 fatherless children now being brought up and educated at Mooseheart. He pointed out that the community has the lowest death rate among cities of comparable size. The institution is entirely supported by Moose Lodges in this country and in Europe.
Applications of 18 new members were received and accepted. They are to be initiated with the Drill Team Class this afternoon.
