A meeting to organize a committee to promote traffic safety on New Bedford streets is to be held in the Free Public Library tonight at 7:30 o’clock. The meeting is sponsored by the Local Moose Lodge.
Louis E. MacBrayne, general manager of the Massachusetts Safety Council, will be the principal speaker and will present motion pictures illustrating the need for a comprehensive safety program. City Engineer George H. Nye is to exhibit charts and statistics on accidents in New Bedford during recent years. Mayor Carney has issues invitations for the meeting and he will preside.
